What do the integrated AI applications\u2014or those available independently of any tool\u2014contribute in terms of content to each of these steps? Some of the invests are including other topics than development and computing centres. Furthermore, some of the investments are circular businesses.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dbc618b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"dbc618b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>These amounts of money can be interpreted in at least two ways:<\/p><ul><li>Investors have a vital interest in ensuring that AI is used and paid for in practically every area so they can recoup their investments. Every means is being employed to urge decision-makers to adopt AI. The promise is: a competitive advantage and increased profits for AI users.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li>Competitors are vying for a unique market position\u2014and, if possible, a monopoly. However, current approaches are very similar, leading experts to speak of \u201ccommoditization\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[2]<\/a> with intense price pressure. Internal pressure to justify the number of tokens<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[3]<\/a> used (the end of \u201ctokenmaxxing\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\">[4]<\/a> as a strategic shift in the AI market) also points to cost pressures and a focus on results. So far, sustainable economic benefits from AI use have been reported only in rare, isolated cases.<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\"><em>[2]<\/em><\/a><em> \u00a0\u00a0commoditization ~ A product category offered by a group of competing providers facing price pressure in the market.<\/em><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em><a href=\"#_ftnref2\" name=\"_ftn2\">[3]<\/a> \u00a0\u00a0Token = The AI\u2019s unit of output. Tokens can be converted into computational effort, which in turn can be converted into costs for processors and energy.<\/em><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em><a href=\"#_ftnref3\" name=\"_ftn3\">[4]<\/a> \u00a0\u00a0Over the past two years, \u201ctokenmaxxing\u201d has been promoted with the argument that \u201cmore tokens = more learning, more experimentation, more productive output.\u201d Executives were evaluated based on how many tokens they used, in part to cut staff elsewhere and replace them with AI. However, tokens cost money. Both U.S. and Chinese policies in recent years leave little doubt that the focus is on \u201cAmerica First\u201d and \u201cChina First\u201d at any cost, with political vassals welcome (see Venezuela, Greenland, the Belt and Road Initiative, etc.) and old alliances no longer mattering.<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[5]<\/a> In a scenario \u201e<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/europe2031.ai\/\">Europe2031.AI<\/a><\/span>\u201c AI scientists from several european countries and the US \u00a0have derived a potential development of AI driven geopolitics for the next 5 years. It looks on a Europe of \u00a027 Nations between the interests of US and China.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-25372e1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"25372e1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4><strong>Management Expectations on AI Technology<\/strong><\/h4>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-040d26b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"040d26b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Tech trusts bundle immense power. At the very least, they have very powerful tools for shaping public opinion, whether through cross-ownership ties to the press and television media or through social media (X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn). They have a great deal of money, which they use intensively not only for technology development but also for marketing (e.g., Super Bowl commercials, high-impact social media posts, podcasts, TV appearances, B2B sales activities).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4d5ab98 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4d5ab98\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The goal of this advertising is to generate hype around the new AI technology. Even though much of it is still under development: \u201cThose who don\u2019t use AI today will be left behind tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fb256cb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fb256cb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In contrast, there are also voices of caution, both from industry insiders<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\"> [6]<\/a> and from scientists in various disciplines<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\"> [7]<\/a>.<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[6]<\/a> E.g. Unfortunately, such principles are soon set aside due to financial considerations <a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[8]<\/a>.<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[8]<\/a> \u00a0\u00a0A detailed look at this interplay between ethos, investors, and the public is explored in the Deutschlandfunk podcast series <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ardsounds.de\/episode\/urn:ard:episode:0d7370641302d9c3\/\">\u201cThe OpenAI Story.\u201d<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-598981f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"598981f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Furthermore, the hype is fueled by the fact that, with many technical advancements and achievements, it is reflexively assumed that they must be AI-driven<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[9]<\/a>.<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\"><em>[1]<\/em><\/a><em> Example: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/picogk.org\/\">Leap71<\/a><\/span>\u2019s success with computational engineering is continually touted as an AI method, even though\u2014as the developers themselves have explicitly stated\u2014it is purely algorithmic software, despite the fact that it has achieved results that were previously unimaginable.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-185843d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"185843d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Investors\u2019 expectations on the stock markets are heavily influenced by expectations surrounding AI. Anthropic released Claude Code with the expectation that this model can write program code faster and better than programmers. Already, the stock prices of traditional software companies are plummeting<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[10]<\/a>.<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[10]<\/a> \u00a0\u00a0With the release of Anthropic\u2019s Claude Code, the stock value of software companies has dropped by a total of approximately $300 billion, even though many of these companies are not even affected by Claude Code\u2019s capabilities.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0d19f8f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0d19f8f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>All of these developments are putting pressure on management teams across all industries to make decisions: Get to grips with AI before you fall behind, lag irretrievably, and lose your competitive edge. Serious consequences for the job market are predicted<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[11]<\/a>\u2014and are already being observed in some places<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[12]<\/a>.<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[11]<\/a> \u00a0\u00a0See the press coverage in<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2026\/jan\/27\/wake-up-to-the-risks-of-ai-they-are-almost-here-anthropic-boss-warns\"> The Guardian<\/a><\/span> in response to statements made by Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei in January 2026<\/em><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"#_ftnref2\" name=\"_ftn2\">[12]<\/a> Article in *Der Spiegel*, Issue 25\/2026 dated June 15, 2026, on <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/karriere\/arbeitsmarkt-wo-es-offene-stellen-gibt-und-fachkraefte-fehlen-eine-interaktive-karte-a-e851703d-330c-4d91-a1c4-18e1563b3067\">developments in the German labor market<\/a><\/span><\/span>. It states that jobs in corporate administration, the creative and advertising industries, as well as entry-level positions\u2014such as in software development\u2014are already being significantly impacted today. For the labor market as a whole, no significant changes can yet be attributed solely to AI.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5c7f20b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5c7f20b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>This question is also relevant to the use of AI for FMEA.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f6ac874 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f6ac874\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The expectations raised by the AI industry are enormous.<\/p><p>A meaningful assessment of how the costs of preparation, implementation, and operation compare to the resulting efficiency and\/or quality gains is unclear and varies greatly from application to application.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-37efef1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"37efef1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>For a labor-intensive development method like FMEA, management\u2019s expectations are unlikely to be \u201cbetter results with the same effort,\u201d but rather range from \u201cthe same results with half the effort\u201d to \u201ceverything automatic from now on.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-25ab18d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"25ab18d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>This poses a massive risk that the necessary resources will be withdrawn from the team to assist with development. Simply creating a document without the active involvement of the developers seems pointless to me.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e1e08a3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e1e08a3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4><strong>Psychology<\/strong><\/h4>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-349864f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"349864f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>AI techniques will not only raise expectations among management but also change the ways in which those involved work.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4647210 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4647210\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In Part 2, I attempted to demonstrate that, at the beginning and end of the 7 steps, existing preliminary information can be processed and effectively integrated or derived using AI tools.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5aace58 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5aace58\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In the analyses\u2014particularly regarding functions, errors, and the derivation of measures\u2014some information is already known from templates, similar cases, or standards. But value creation in development arises from the creative work involved in addressing new situations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1169906 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1169906\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Experienced, professional facilitators will draw on their many years of experience to allow AI to support them, but not to be dictated to by it. And they will focus their attention on the active participation of team members. Team-based work will only add value to the development process if everyone contributes their ideas, if everyone understands what the analysis reveals, and if they think creatively to find solutions.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1fc28f7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1fc28f7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Success-oriented, strong-willed individuals\u2014such as experienced, professional FMEA facilitators\u2014resist \u201ccognitive nickel nurser\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[13]<\/a> and make full use of their cognitive abilities, their capacity for thought, and their ability to synthesize information.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e5f609a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e5f609a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>For the average FMEA moderator, who occasionally struggles with this method in a project, there is a strong temptation to follow the AI\u2019s appealing suggestions rather than critically questioning them. The FMEA is completed and linked formally and correctly. The team can follow along\u2014provided they still consider their own participation necessary for this mode of operation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5254b57 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5254b57\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In cognitive psychology, it is a well-known phenomenon that people take the easy way out. Mental effort is avoided as much as possible. This \u201ccognitive aversion to effort\u201d corresponds to the natural principle of \u201cas much as necessary, as little as possible.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-03f5015 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"03f5015\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>With a powerful AI tool, it would likely be easy to delegate the mental work and engage in cognitive outsourcing [13].
