QM in including a huge bunch of topics:<\/p>

  • Make clear what “quality” means, inside and outside of the company (definitions of terms, Dos & Don#ts, Tabu rules, quality policy)<\/li>
  • Responsiblities: Who is authorised to give orders? Who may or must press the red button in which situations?<\/li>
  • Is there a general department for quality, a QM representative? Who is developing and maintaining the QM system of the company?<\/li>
  • What are internal audits for? Are quality, energy, sustainability, health and social responsibility managed by the same person or department?<\/li>
  • Are processes of HR and controlling included in ISO 9001 system audits in the same manner as product development and processes in metrology?<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Management in the sense of “having control” and “intentionally influence” is including to make quality safe in all aspects of manufacturing and services. It is frequently separated into management (QM) and assurance (QA) of quality. For me, QA is a part of QM.<\/p>

    Quality management’s task is to support the managament team as well as all employees to fulfill expectations to internal results and to results to the customer.<\/p>

    That does not mean to have a right guess what the customer could wish but to list and negotiate customer wishes and expectations for the own business.\u00a0<\/p>

    Are there clear targets, in line with company targets and contracted with the customer, then it is about to use potentials and ressources of the company in an efficient and effective way to achieve the targets to the customer. It is a true and necessary internal targekt of the company to create and collect new knowledge and to have commercial success. It is part of the ever lasting conflict in the magic triangle betwee quality, cost and timing.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Traditionally, QM works with process description added by rules, e.g. given as instructions and control plans as well as audits.
    Audits are announced sample checks to show evidence of a meaningful collaboration of processes and rules. Both shall\u00a0 be known in the company and they shall be used systematically as requested. Audits are mostly formalized by given checklists. This is driven by certification requirements and the standardized qualification of auditors.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Buzz words like AGILE create the impression: now everything needs to be done in a different manner. The tight QM procedures no longer need to be applied. In such a general form this is nonsense.\u00a0
    If new work procedures and processes shall be used in the company, if hierarchy and culture of the company shall change this will have consequences for QM as well.\u00a0
    Nevertheless, the company will have to comply with given certification rules in its field of business. And internal workflows need to be controlled and documented.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
